LOCnificent Fest was established by Founder, Lovaeta K. Amoako.  The concept derived from her love of locs and the rich culture, beauty, and history tied to them.

Lovaeta first loc’d her hair in December 2010. For her, locs and natural hair are symbolic of empowerment, heritage, and self-love.

Given her Ghanaian and African American background, connecting people to culture remains a priority.

Lovaeta’s ongoing mission is to create space to amplify all the beauty and positivity of locs and natural hair, while creating a sense of community.
